In the connected world, where would you work? Are small towns as good as capitals?
Take Bodø for example – a small town with just 50,000 inhabitants in the north of Norway. The best part – you can walk from the airport to the city center. You have the sea, the mountains, the views. Great internet speeds. Occasional rain. Here you can pretty much enjoy a regular European lifestyle, and, if you need to go places, Oslo is just 1 hour away by plane.
It is in the north, so I guess it’s not for everyone. Coming from a town beyond the polar circle myself, I don’t think I have a problem with long polar nights – or long summer days, for that matter.
Having come to Bodø for a conference, catching a couple of unusually warm and sunny days here – while it’s raining all over Europe – is really a surprise. Makes you think – if you could work remotely from here, what else would you need?
